We have three sons at this school, each with different abilities. The essence of the school is the teaching staff and their ability to cater to the individual needs of our children, drawing on their strengths and supporting their weaknesses. The greatest testament, however, has to be what the boys said when we asked them what they thought of Argyle House School. They said that it was like a home from home, that the teachers were great fun and they enjoyed their lessons. The boys always come home happy and full of chat about their day, as parents we can’t ask for much more than that.

Mr and Mrs Shotton

The lessons in class at school are exciting. I think that school has lots of things to play with in the yard. I like all the activities. I think they are great as well as the trips. I like all the teachers I think that they sometimes are funny.

Hannah

Argyle House School provides a broad curriculum in a friendly, safe environment for the pupils. All three sciences are taught separately and with enough depth to ensure pupils can carry their studies further if they wish. The emphasis is on practical work in the early years whilst in later years pupils are encouraged to develop their own ideas and investigations. The pupil’s attention and interest is engaged in the early years and this enables them to develop their full potential.

Mr Davies

Before teaching at Argyle House School I worked at several state comprehensive schools. This is the first school I have taught in where it is ‘cool’ to do well. Overall pupils here are a delight – they are polite, courteous, they want to learn and are keen to succeed.

Mrs Cahill

Argyle House School has a lovely family atmosphere. It gives the children the confidence to tackle any part of school. We aim to provide an education that is tailored to each individual.

PTA

The Association was formed in 1970 with a view to providing equipment and fixtures for the use of children, and to foster good relations between staff and parents.

The meetings are friendly and informal, and the interest and support of parents and new children will be most welcome.

The committee has worked closely with Mr Johnson and his staff, in discussion and provision of useful equipment for the school.

Since 1970, the PTA has funded many projects, ranging from the purchase of ten tents for School Camp to the acquisition of a new mini bus. If you wish to be informed about dates of future meetings etc, please inform the Head Teacher of your interest.

The parents who are members of the PTA welcome both your interest and support.
