Community engagement

Supporting local initiatives

Argyle House School is proud to play an active role within the local community. Our ongoing support for the Sunderland Food Bank helps pupils understand the importance of service, kindness and social responsibility. Through regular collections and awareness activities, our children see firsthand how their efforts can make a meaningful difference.

Local performances and events

We continue to take part in events that bring our school and the local community together. A highlight of the year is our annual Carol Service at St John’s Church, where pupils, staff, families and members of the wider community gather to celebrate and reflect.

Charity and fundraising

Argyle House School has a long-standing commitment to giving back. Each term, pupils and staff come together to support different charities selected through our House Charity Weeks. Our School Council also has a voice in choosing which causes are supported, encouraging pupil involvement and social awareness.

We regularly support:

  • Sunderland Food Bank
  • Local soup kitchens
  • Love Amelia
  • Young Minds

These fundraising efforts not only make a meaningful difference in the wider community but also develop compassion, empathy, and responsibility in our pupils.
