Argyle House Little Crickets Nursery undergoes modernising transformation
Exciting developments are underway at Argyle House School’s Little Crickets Nursery in the heart of Sunderland. The new in post Nursery Manager Mrs Donna Blackmore has overseen a nursery refresh. The childcare provision has been thoughtfully extended in response to the requests and needs of the Argyle House School parent body. Little Crickets Nursery is now open year-round from babies from 6 months old to children in the pre school year.
A nursery attached to a school provides more than simply childcare. A child’s learning opportunities are enhanced by attending Argyle House School’s Little Crickets Nursery, the consistency and stability of their pre-school years means the pace of their progress is maximised. The dedicated nursery team, led by Mrs Blackmore, offers the children in their care a bespoke learning experience tailored to each child’s individual developmental stage and interests. The building blocks, essential to academic success are laid by expert practitioners who are qualified teachers in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum which is focused on play and active learning. Furthermore, the stability of the same setting for nursery and then school makes the start of full-time school in the Reception class less daunting. If a child already knows their teachers and is familiar with their surroundings, if they are already “walking the walk”, the transition to “Big School” is much more seamless.
