French provision at Argyle House School
French is delivered at Argyle House School by a specialist teacher from Nursery culminating in French GCSE. We believe that learning a language isn’t just that, it has proven benefits for peoples’ brain health building agile, versatile thinkers as well as laying brilliant foundations for picking up other languages.
Aside from the obvious benefits of being able to converse whilst holidaying abroad, learning a second language has been proven to sharpen the memory, support problem-solving skills and even better, widen job opportunities.
In addition to school trips, specific whole school activities enhance the delivery of our provision such as “La Fete Nationale” which we celebrated on the last day of the summer term!
Our older students ran a French café from which our younger children could order in French choosing croissant, pain au chocolat, crepes or croque monsieur! Well done to everyone for practising their French language skills collaboratively!
