Year 6 at Argyle House School, to enhance their studies, recently visited Beamish-The Living Museum of the North

Year 6 were learning about Victorian Britain. They attended a Victorian style lesson in the school with a very strict teacher, who as was customary in those times, made the children stand up to answer questions and demanded that they call her Ma’am. After time in the school room, it was time to experience life for a 12 year old Victorian child working in a coal mine for a 12 hour shift! The mood lightened at the end of the day with a visit to the sweet shop and a rise on the bus!
