John Sample has served as Headteacher of Argyle House School since April 2025. Prior to this, he was Head of Prep at St Francis’ College in Hertfordshire for three years and Headmaster of Cundall Manor in North Yorkshire for five years. Earlier in his career he spent a decade as a Deputy Head, having originally trained and worked as a teacher of Physical Education and History. John is passionate about building strong school communities and supporting pupils to flourish both academically and personally. Outside school, he is the proud father of three wonderful girls and, for his sins, a long-suffering supporter of Newcastle United.
