Enrichment Opportunities

Extracurricular activities at Argyle House School

At Argyle House School, we believe that learning doesn’t stop when the classroom door closes. We are committed to providing a well-rounded educational experience by offering a variety of extracurricular activities that allow our pupils to develop new skills, discover their passions and grow as individuals.

Sport is a vital aspect of daily life at Argyle House School. Pupils also compete in regular matches against local schools and participate in inter-house competitions that run throughout the school year. Two major sporting events in the school calendar are the Swimming Gala and Sports Day, where parents are invited to attend and offer their support at these enjoyable events.

Teams include: U13 and U16 Rugby; U13 and U15 Netball; U13 and U15 Basketball (Boys and Girls); U13 and U16 Football (Boys and Girls); U13 and U15 Tennis (Boys and Girls) Cricket.

Clubs

Our diverse range of clubs is designed to cater to a wide variety of interests. Whether pupils are interested in the arts, sports, science, technology or leadership development, there is something for everyone. These clubs run before school, during lunchtime and after school, giving pupils the flexibility to choose activities that spark their curiosity and align with their interests. Through participation in these programs, pupils build confidence, form friendships, and learn valuable life skills.

Trips and Visits

In addition to extracurricular activities, our pupils have the opportunity to participate in several exciting residential and day trips throughout the year. Some of the destinations include Paris, skiing trips to Austria and our much-anticipated Annual Summer Camp.

These experiences create lifelong memories and help pupils develop a sense of adventure and appreciation for different cultures.

Duke of Edinburgh Award

When pupils reach Year 9, they are introduced to the Duke of Edinburgh Award program, beginning with the Bronze level. This nationally recognised program encourages pupils to challenge themselves physically, mentally, and socially through volunteering, physical activities, and an outdoor expedition. It’s a transformative experience that builds character and prepares pupils for future challenges. Pupils gain essential skills and attributes for work and life such as resilience, problem-solving, team-working, communication and drive, enhancing future university and job applications.

Ski trip to Austria

At Argyle House School, the opportunities are endless. Our pupils are also encouraged to take an active role in shaping school life by putting forward their ideas and suggestions to the School Council. This ensures that their voices are heard and that they have a hand in creating a vibrant and dynamic school community.
