House system at Argyle House School embeds community values, promotes competition and facilitates contribution to charities.

The house system at Argyle House School has been enjoying somewhat of a renaissance this academic year. On joining the school, each pupil is allocated to one of the four houses, named: Barnes, Herrington, Mowbray and Roker, after Victorian parks in close proximity to the school.
This academic year numerous interhouse academic and sporting competitions have taken place including: a Mathematics Challenge, a Spelling Bee, and a general knowledge quiz, plus a 5-a-side football competition and a bleep test in the gym.
In terms of charitable causes; money has been raised by pupils and students carrying out multiple initiatives such as bake sales or non-uniform days for both the ‘Love Amelia’ and ‘Young Minds’ charities.
Pupils and students collect house points for excelling in school life whether academically, on the sports field, for upholding the school values or for excellent behaviour. Those with the most house points are rewarded with “House Champion” certificates. At the end of the summer term, the winning house is awarded a trophy.
