Duke of Edinbugh Practice Walk
Our Year 9 pupils took part in their Duke of Edinburgh practice walk ahead of expedition in the Summer.
Year 9 pupils completed their practice expedition last week as part of completing their Bronze Award.
Pupils completed the practice walk over two days between Waskerley Reservoir and Langley Park, via Lanchester in County Durham, walking along the Waskerley Way.
Working in groups they had to plot their route and use teamwork to ensure they did not get lost and that everyone completed the walk.
Having completed the practice walk they are all now preparing for the assessed expedition at Easter in the Lake District. This will involve them camping overnight and a walk that takes them from Keswick to the Borrowdale Valley and back to Keswick, around Derwentwater.
